My dog used to inhale his food in seconds, but the non-skid base keeps the bowl in place while the ridges force him to slow down. His digestion has been much better—no more gulping air.
The raised ridges in this bowl actually force my lab to work around them instead of gulping everything in thirty seconds. Mealtime went from a two-minute blur to a solid five minutes of licking and nudging. No more post-dinner gagging sounds, which is a relief.
My beagle used to inhale his whole meal in under a minute and then look miserable. With this bowl he's actually working around the obstacles and it takes him a good five minutes now, no more gulping. The skid-free base is a bonus since he can't shove it across the kitchen floor anymore.
